Preschool

The YMCA’s Preschool philosophy has its foundation in the development of spirit, mind and body. The character values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility are at the heart of everything we do.

This developmental program fits the needs of the children according to their age and individual progress. It uses a thematic approach to reading readiness, language, science, math, art, music, social studies, self-esteem building, multi-cultural activities, health/nutrition, fitness, and social- emotional growth for children 2 to 5 years of age.

Classroom learning is complemented with field trips, class visitors, family and other special events throughout the school year. Our primary goal is a happy, well-adjusted child who learns through play!
The Wesley curriculum includes an intergenerational program, which takes place at the Wesley Community Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs.

There will be an Open House at Saratoga Springs Branch on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.  And you are always welcome to come by for a tour.

Memberships

Each student must be a Youth, Family, or Program Member:

Youth Membership: $13/month
Family Membership: $69/month
(Either of these memberships allows your child to also participate in other YMCA programs free, or at a lower member rate.)

Program Membership: $100/year
(This membership allows your child to participate in other YMCA programs at the higher program member rate.)

Additional Activities
Swim lessons are included for 3 and 4 year olds at the Saratoga Springs Branch. Tumbling lessons are included for 3 and 4 year olds
at our Wilton Branch. Kids’ Fit Program is included for 3 and 4 year olds at Wesley.

Payment

Tuition is payable in 10 monthly installments through automatic draft of a checking or savings account or credit card.  The first installment of ten percent (10% - non-refundable) is required to register. The remaining installments will start in August 2010 and run through April 2011. Or, you may elect to pay the full annual fee at registration.

In addition to tuition fees shown in this brochure, each student must be a paid Youth Member, Family Member or a Program Member.

Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can register in person at the YMCA on the following dates:

Current preschool participants, siblings or siblings of alumnae: Wednesday, January 12, 2011
8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In-person registration only.

New registrants: Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  In-person registration only.

Early registration is suggested.

Ongoing registration will continue after these dates if openings are available. Requires in-person
registration only.

PreschoolPLUS
This 12 week program offers language arts and math enrichment for 3 and 4 year olds. The emphasis is on strengthening your child’s reading, writing and math skills as they get ready for kindergarten. Children must be 4 by January 1, 2011.

Session: September 21 - December 21, 2010; January 11 - April 14, 2011
Days/Times: Tuesday and Thursday . 12:45 - 2:45 p.m.
Fees: $180.00 member/$300.00 program member
Program member fee may be made in two payments.
