These developmental programs fit the needs of the children according to their age and individual progress.

PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS

This is a school year/school schedule program. Our caring, qualified teachers provide your 2 to 5 year old a developmental curriculum that fits their needs according to their age and individual progress. Classroom learning is complemented by field trips, class visitors and other special events. Our goal: a happy well-adjusted child who learns through play. Our Pre-School classes are held at the Saratoga Springs and Wilton Branch facilities and at the Wesley Health Care Center. Our Wesley Intergenerational Pre-School program includes interaction between the pre-school students and the Wesley residents during regular Pre-School Activities.

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT
The Saratoga Regional YMCA's Before and After School Enrichment Program (B.A.S.E.) and Preteen Recreation and Enrichment Program (P.R.E.P.) serves over 300 children. To support the working family, the B.A.S.E. Program environment is designed to encourage both the independent and a cooperative spirit. We seek to stimulate and facilitate development of the whole child. The children are provided a safe environment in which they can grow intellectually, physically socially and emotionally as they learn to work with and care for others. Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility are intertwined, taught, and utilized in all things done on a daily basis.

Activities and projects are selected to enrich the child through art, math, science, construction, dramatic play, music, movement, physical activity, homework help and literacy, providing them the tools to grow in self-confidence and gain independence. Working in small or large groups the children can be found racing balloon rockets across the room or acting as mad scientist as they measure and mix a batch of gack. With a wide use of color, paints, paper, glue and many other artistic mediums, the children daily create wonderful works of art that catch the eye. Blue prints of buildings gain dimension when the children experiment with building blocks, Legos, pipes and more. Opportunities to enjoy adventures through reading or to write tales down on paper are readily available. The children are moving and grooving on a daily basis enjoying competitive and non competitive games in the gym or outside, dancing to the music, or simply using their energy into a fun active manner.
